The Influence of Piano Students’ Sociodemographic Characteristics, Motivation, and Self-Efficacy on Their Achievements and Aspirations for Continuing Music Education

Motivation, self-efficacy and certain personality traits are important factors for the success of piano students, they also influence student aspirations further music education. In addition to these factors, paper studies sociodemographic characteristics, as predictors continuation The aim research was examine pupils pursue conducted in following schools: »Josip Hatze« Music School Split, »Ivan Matetić Ronjgov« Rijeka, three largest schools Zagreb, »Pavao Markovac« School, »Vatroslav Lisinski« »Elly Bašić« School. respondents were 215 students aged 12‒18. closedended questionnaires included five subscales adapted purposes this research, along with a new scale practice efficacy, which represents contribution pedagogy. This explains many motivational self-effective practice, characteristics that affect students’ performance aspirations, while participation school competitions international awards found be most enrolling at academies. Finally, terms explaining education, we can highlight importance educational structure, parental support, primary performance.
